Restoration of the Greenock Cut

The Greenock Cut was constructed in the 1820s to provide water and power for the burgeoning industries of the area and remained in use until the 1970s.
We were asked by Scottish Natural Heritage to produce a master plan for the restoration of this Scheduled Ancient Monument to examine how the local community might be involved in the work and to make recommendations on appropriate management structures and sources of financial assistance.
There is a Greenock Cut photoset here.
