This sequence of drawings describes the development of proposals for Renfrew Riverside aimed at the integration of the riverside development area with the historic town centre to the south. The key components were the development of a network of places connected by new streets linking from the river back to the core of the old town. In addition, a greenspace corridor based on a restored historic waterway – the Pudzeoch – would act as a key structuring element and resource for existing and new development

The proposal sought to retain much of the character of the Ferry Village area of Renfrew – shown in this photoset.
These structuring proposals were matched by specific proposals for the public realm in the town centre – these are described here.
